Press:
Deep88 presents his new LP ‘The Black Album’. This double-vinyl and limited CD release houses his personal style that is reminiscent of the sounds of a bygone era whether the depth and warmth of New Jersey and Italian House, a dose of sun-soaked Balearic or primitive raw jams synonymous with Chicago.

The first vinyl begins with the mellow sound of ‘Harmony’ which you may be already acquainted with via the ‘Ascii EP’ on Berlinaric though here there is the exclusive addition of a beautiful Rhodes intro. Second track is ‘Rotation’, a mixture of early proto-house with some NY Latin influences plus on the flip there is ‘Face It’ with this night trip a nocturnal haze of heavy drums and dreamy lush lead and pad. Closing the record is a bangin’ raw jam made with a Emu Sp1200 and TR303 Roland, probably the pearl of the album.

The second vinyl starts with the Adriatic house dream unceasing groove of Schlagsahne (Juice), then proceeds with the ghetto 808 styling of ‘Chord Prog’ and direct 909 of ‘Me Myself and an MPC’. The album concludes with the classic synth flute of ‘Sunday Morning’ – previously released on Don’t Be Afraid.

A different selection of previously released and brand new tracks to fix a point in the Deep88 musical journey, The Black Album makes a statement of a different yet possibly modern view of house music joining the dots between the classic and more traditionalist sounds but with an ear open to the future.
